The delegation from Ekaterinburg, headed by the Deputy Head of the Administration for Landscaping, Yevgeniy Arkhipov, visited the SkyWay string transport manufacturers. The result of the meeting was the signing of the documents that will accelerate the introduction of the innovation in the new concept of the city development. It is important that the implementation of the transport project, which is at the “second level” and solves the problem of traffic jams, is considered on the basis of the extrabudgetary funds.
The initiator of the visit was President of the group of companies Uralexpocenter-Euro-Asian Exhibition Holding Alexander Baranov, who first got acquainted with the SkyWay technology at the Energy Expo 2016. The CJSC String Technologies party was personally represented by General Designer Anatoliy Yunitskiy and Head of the Targeted Projects Department Kirill Badulin.
During the business meeting, the guests toured the pilot production workshops, evaluated the new samples of the SkyWay rolling stock, and also witnessed the running tests at the EcoTechnoPark. The parties discussed the technical and investment aspects of the string transport, and the prospects for specifically targeted construction of the SkyWay transport complexes in the Urals region.
Ekaterinburg is fighting for the right to host Expo 2025, and one of its possible advantages may be the SkyWay string transport. Its introduction was discussed at a recent meeting in the Public Chamber of the Sverdlovsk region, and the urban transport scheme of the busiest city areas is ready: Uralmash, Botanica, Academicheskiy, Vostochnaya, and others. According to Head of the Administration Alexander Yakob, if the city wins the competition for the right to hold the event, its infrastructure can significantly change.
In December, LLC “NTC NII GET”( Scientific and Technical Center of the City Electrical Transport Research Institute) issued the certificates confirming the technical properties of the string transport rolling stock and its parts. The certificates are issued for the U4-210 model Unibus and U4-621 Unibike. The certification became a logical continuation of the recognition of the string technology innovation (2016, Expert Council under the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation) and the agreement on comprehensive cooperation with MIIT, the largest transport university in Russia (2017).
