On June 21st there was held in Belarus the second international scientific conference «Rocketfree industrialization of space: problems, ideas, projects. At the conference, inventors, academics and scientists from different countries discussed ways to solve modern global environmental problems.
One of the main events of the conference was the speech of Anatoliy Yunitskiy, the Belarusian engineer and creator of the SkyWay string transport technology. He offered his version of saving the future of the Earth – the General Planetary Vehicle (GPV).
The creation of the GPV will help reduce the cost of delivering each ton of cargo into the orbit by a factor of thousands to an amount of less than 1000 USD per ton. But most importantly, civilization will have access to almost ideal conditions for technological processes: weightlessness, vacuum, unlimited raw materials, energy and spatial resources.
The budget of the project is 2.5 trillion USD. That’s just the amount of three annual U.S. military budgets. The power to incorporate the GPV into the network is 100 million kilowatts. That’s how much one heavy rocket consumes. The project will require about 100 million tons of steel. For comparison, this is how much is smelted on the planet in 3 weeks. And concrete is needed no more than they laid in the dam of the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydroelectric station, which is about 10 million cubic meters.
