Last weekend, His Highness Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, member of the Federal Supreme Council of the UAE and sovereign of the Sharjah emirate, visited the under-construction SkyWay Innovation Centre (SWIC) and blessed the launch of operation of the SkyWay string transport in Sharjah. The centre will be a part of Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTIP), which is also being built at the moment.
The launch was attended by Anatoli Unitsky, founder of the SkyWay project; the Chief Executive Officer of SRTIP, Hussain Al Mahmoudi and several senior officials: Dr. Rashid Alleem, Chairman of Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority; Abdullah Salem Al Tarifi, Chairman of Sharjah Social Security Fund and others.
The guests were shown the project of the future park and demonstrated a functioning model of tropical string transport adapted to the climatic conditions of the Middle East, the Unicar-T.
