From 29 October to 1 November, in Ekaterinburg, there was held the VI International Forum of high-rise and unique construction 100 + Forum Russia and the World Day of Cities UN-Habitat. The events were dedicated to the latest trends in redevelopment, construction of public and residential space in new formats, as well as to the introduction of innovative transport in the cities of the future.

The events were attended by leading architects, developers, officials, and representatives of transport, including SkyWay. As a result of 100+ Forum Russia and World Cities Day, an overview publication was issued on the pages of the business edition Expert of the Urals informing about the proposed solutions, as well as about Unitsky string transport.

The journalists of the business edition named the technology innovative one and quoted the words of Arkadiy Biryukov, SkyWay‘s coordinator of targeted projects, who presented the technology in Ekaterinburg:

«The technology is able to address the main problems created by transport in large cities: traffic jams, ecology and road safety. Such a flyover system is an excellent alternative to Metro in terms of capital costs and delivery times».

The events were also attended by the Federation Council Senator, Deputy Chairman of the Organizing Committee 100+ Forum Russia – Arkadiy Chernetskiy, Minister of Construction and Infrastructure Development of the Sverdlovsk region – Mikhail Volkov,  Head of Ekaterinburg – Alexander Vysokinskiy, as well as Head of UN-HABITAT, Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations – Maimunah Mohd Sharif.

World Cities Day is an international event in the field of urban planning. Before Ekaterinburg, it was hosted by Guangzhou, Quito, Liverpool, Milan and Shanghai.
