Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, familiarized himself with the SkyWay transport technology, report Khaleej Times, Gulf News, Gulf Today, Emirates News 247 etc, with reference to the state’s Media Office. This happened during the visit of Crown Prince to the Office of Roads and Transport of Dubai, where the Head of the Office H.E. Mattar Al Tayer told him about the benefits of the string technology.

As Mattar Al Tayer noted in the publication on the Arabian Business portal, SkyWay will use 100 times less space compared to the usual modes of transport with similar throughput.  At the same time, the SkyWay energy efficient modules surpass electric vehicles by 5 times and require 10 times less infrastructure than traditional public transport systems.

Unibike and one-section Unicar were among the models presented to the high guests. The Crown Prince of Dubai shared his impressions on his Twitter page:

Dubai thinks out-of-the-box…  It is taking bold steps with the aim of kick-starting a revolution in transportation by undertaking new projects such as the Dubai Sky pods, a futuristic mobility system that requires one tenth the infrastructure of conventional transit systems

The development of the SkyWay project in the United Arab Emirates continues in other regions as well. In mid-November, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Emir of Sharjah and a member of the Federal Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates, paid a visit to the Innovation Research Technology Park of Sharjah. In the framework of the meeting with the Board of Trustees of the American University in Sharjah Hamid Jafar and the Director of the Innovation Research Technology Park Hussein Al Mahmoudi, Emir discussed the issues of the private-public cooperation in the field of high technologies, as well as the plans for the construction of the Innovation Park.

It is worthy of note that one of the participants of the meeting, Hussein Al Mahmoudi, previously had the opportunity to familiarize himself with the developments of SkyWay during his visit to the EcoTechnoPark as a member of the UAE delegation in July 2018. He also participated in signing the documents on the construction of the SkyWay Innovation Center in Sharjah.
